GLENDEVEN INN NEW OWNERS
We are pleased to introduce the new owners of Glendeven Inn where Partners Gallery is located. Five female llamas are a new addition to the meadows surrounding the inn, here from their former home in Bear Valley by new owners John Dixon and Mike Roemmler. Eventually the llamas will get a little more exercise taking guests on treks in nearby state parks. Other additions to the already wonderful offerings of the inn are a new chef, Tiffany Evans, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco who will soon be offering box lunches in addition to breakfast. The new owners are also building an eco-friendly trail down through the back woods to Van Damme State Park’s trail system, just outside the back door. For more information and vacation packages check the renewed website at www.glendeven.com.

KAREN URBANEK
In her first one person show at Partners Karen will be showing works of naturally dyed, layered fiber works. Her work also includes stone, wire, encaustics and not-quite-yet-recyclables, shifting between abstraction and reality. She makes a concerted effort to use almost exclusively natural materials, in an environmentally responsible manner. Karen’s show opens on January 10th and runs through February 4th. There will be a reception for the artist on Saturday, January 12th 5-8 pm
QUILTS
In March Partners is pleased to present an exhibit of quilts curated by Julie Burns. The quilts, by local artists, are hand quilted in a variety of sizes and forms. Some are made to warm a spot on the wall, some to warm a sleeping body. Each one expresses some aspect of the quilting tradition. Those exhibiting include Amber Bell, Catherine Booth, Julie Burns, Ronnie Kemper, Rita Martinez and Shirlee Paoli. This show opens March 6th and runs through April 7th. There will be a reception for the artists on Saturday, March 8th 5-8 pm
MELISSA MURPHY
Melissa’s first one person show at Partners will be comprised of photographs that conveys her exploration of the media synthesizing abstract constructs of society, and realizing narrative. Photography has been a vehicle that allows Melissa to record complexities and contradictions that are by common usage and consent rendered invisible or silenced in our society. The spaces between, connecting black and white: good/evil, male/female, and other fictitious dichotomies, is the focus of her work. Melissa’s show opens on May 8th and runs through June 9th. There will be a reception for the artist on Saturday, May 10th, 5-8 pm.
