GRANT AWARD FROM MENDOCINO COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Partners Gallery is the recipient of a grant for marketing of artist administered galleries.  We will share this grant with Edgewater Gallery and North Coast Artists.  The grant includes an extensive one day workshop and will give the three galleries an opportunity to collaborate on strategies to strengthen the individual businesses as well as marketing visual arts on the coast in general.  The funds have been made available through a grant received from the Irvine Foundation to the Mendocino County Community Foundation.

KRISTIN OTWELL AND CAROLYN KING

"Of the Earth" is the theme of Kristin Otwell and Carolyn King’s exhibition in October.  Kristin’s  pieces, will be all watercolors on paper.  These are literally based on observations made while looking down at the ground from both close-up and from great heights and include aerial views of Anderson Valley and detailed studies of rocks and grasses.  Carolyn’s work continues her exploration of the wonders of the natural world by fashioning sculpture out of roots, skeletonized leaves and pine needles. The show opens Thursday, October 12th with a reception Saturday, October 14th.

RICIA ARAIZA & MICHAEL LEVENTHAL

The title of their September show is "Art in Rather Difficult Times". While Ricia and Michael have been painting together this past year the world has been in turmoil that is impossible to avoid.  There have been hurricanes, floods, wars and the planet has been burning up.  How can one create in such a time? How can one not? This exhibit opens Thursday, September 7th with a reception Saturday, September 9th.

PARTNERS AT STEVENSWOOD

Stevenswood, the inn located just north of Partners Gallery features the work of artists from the gallery in their award winning dining room and in the spa area.  The artwork adds to the elegant ambience of the restaurant and can be seen on the Stevenswood website <http://www.stevenswood.com/dining.html.

GOLDENEYE POURS FOR OPENINGS

The gallery has been fortunate to have the wines of Goldeneye winery for many of our receptions.  This winery began producing premium Pinot Noir in the Anderson Valley in 1997.  The winery is located in the heart of Anderson Valley along the migratory pathway of the common Goldeneye duck, hence the name for the winery.  You can sample this fine wine at the reception during the month of October.  For more information or to visit the winery go to h

PARTNERS NEWS

Elizabeth Ross will be leaving the gallery as a Partner after three years.  The gallery wishes her good luck on her continued work with the Rural Murals project.  The gallery will be welcoming a new consignment artist, Gary Church, who has exhibited his work in a group show of Anderson Valley artists several years ago.  Gary’s sculpture is assemblage using unusual mixed media elements. Elizabeth Ross and Pamela Hahn are included in “Abstracted Elements”, July 8 – September 17, 2006 at the Grace Hudson Museum in Ukiah.  Seven regional artists use compositional elements of shape, color, texture, image fragments, or found objects to create their abstracted visions in painting, collage or assemblage.  Ricia Araiza and Michael Leventhal sold “Metamorpohsis II” to Rene di Rosa when he visited the coast for the Mendocino Film Festival in May.  The Di Rosa Art Peserve is located in Napa at 5200 Carneros Highway and features the work of important California artists.

SUZANNE NEGRE, JEWELRY

Suzanne Otwell Negre, an American jeweler, has made her home in the south of France for over 30 years. She works primarily in gold and silver in a clean rather "architectural" style, using very few gemstones.  The majority of her pieces are hand fabricated and one of a kind.  Partners Gallery has featured Suzanne’s elegant jewelry for many years and we have a wide selection of pins, pendants, and earrings.
