interested in the duality of working in a highly realistic style
while focusing on the abstract qualities of design and form inherent
in Nature. Many of my subjects involve close-up explorations
of leaves, rocks, bones, fruit, and succulent plants, often combined
with overlaying patterns. Watercolor has been my main medium
for the past twenty years. Its versatility attracts me--it can
produce light, delicate washes or areas of bold, saturated color,
and everything in between.
