Here and Now

2022 Exhibit

The paintings and collages exhibited in “Here and Now” are inspired by a variety of interests and experiences. A piano concert performed for me by a good friend resulted in Debussy and Tea. Beach Nights incorporate objects found while coming and going to picnics with friends. There Is a Place portrays a peaceful destination inspired by the song Somewhere. Whatever the subject matter, my work is influenced by the natural world and the fluidity of nature always evident on the Mendocino Coast. Nothing seems to stay still for long. This is compatible with abstraction and my medium, encaustic.

“One has to be prepared for the unexpected while working with hot wax.”
