Rachel Binah gathers scraps of cultural waste, such as plastics, roofing tiles, screening, Tyvek, fabric, paint and paper to make her collages. She stitches them together with rough hand-sewn lines of twine or ribbon. Her constructions extend beyond traditional borders and embrace irregularity and the beauty found in discarded materials.
Rachel has been influenced by her new surroundings of the High Desert of Bend, Oregon. What follows are photos from around and about the farm and her studio.
